The BSOLS library offers the students an access to an invaluable collection of books, Law reports, Bare acts, journals, periodicals, newspapers etc. It is continuously furnished with new and relevant reference materials. The library is fully computerized which makes the accessibility easier for the students. It functions throughout the year from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all days except Sundays and other holidays. This gives the students an excellent opportunity to improve their understanding and knowledge. It has access to online databases such as MANUPATRA, CDJ LAW JOURNALS, NLIST, and SCC ONLINE. The library staffs assist students in the identification and collection of resources. A number of computer terminals are available in the library. The library is Wi-Fi enabled allowing the students and teachers to access the net and online databases on their own laptops.
The library has three main sections: the circulation section, the reference section, and the reading room. Faculty and students have the facility of open access to all the collections available in the library. The entire functions of the library are managed with the help of “KOHA software”. The whole library is under the surveillance of C.C. TV Cameras.
Circulation – Library provides open access for all books to its Students, Faculty and Staff.
OPAC search – Through OPAC the users can search for any books required in the library software using Title, Author, Publication, or any other key words and know its status as available or non-available in the library. Click to login
Book Reservation – The facility may be available by reporting to the circulation desk. One can reserve a book, if the same book is not available on the shelf.
Book bank scheme – Book Bank Scheme in which students have to pay an amount for one book for each subject and he/she will get books free for each and every semester.
New Arrival Awareness Service – The newly arrived books are displayed in a separate shelf in front of the library.
Referral service – The library staff directs the user to the source of information if the information is not available in the library.
User Guidance Service – The Library organises a Library Orientation Programme for new entrants at the beginning of the academic year. The aim of this programme is to make the new members familiar with the library’s resources, services, and rules so that they can avail library services to a great extent.
Digital Library – It is a digital collection of online databases, e-books, e-journals, OPAC, Delnet and D-Space. Circulation of documents is maintained by e-software KOHA.
Reprographic Service – facilities like printing, scanning and photocopying are available within the library.
Library attendance software- enables to monitor the daily users of the library and to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Article delivery – It ensures students, research scholars and faculties to access their resources from library including book chapters, images, journal articles and other library collections and are sent to library users directly or indirectly.
