Women’s Club

Women Development Cell (WDC) was inaugurated on 18 th July 2019 by Adv. M S Tara, Member of State women commission. WDC in BSOLS is named as Queen Bees. Motto of Queen Bees is “Each women for a woman”. In compliance with a directive from the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Bharata Mata School of Legal Studies conducts Women Development Cell (WDC) Activities throughout the year. It acts as a forum for providing a conducive environment for self -empowerment of girl students and to take care of the problems and matters related to them.

Objectives

  • To empower girl students
  • To raise awareness about women’s rights
  • To advocate for women’s suffrage, other rights for women
  • To organize entertaining and educational activities for development of women
  • To create awareness about issues related to Women and to make college campus a safe space for women students
  • To prevent any act of harassment, including sexual harassment
  • Provide the procedure for resolution, settlement or prosecution of acts of sexual harassment taking all required steps
  • To empower women by making them involved in various activities
  • Strives to address any grievances of the students and provide them with
  • necessary guidance and support
  • Intellectual and social upliftment of students

Woman’s Club Activities

  • Mehndi competition-OCT 16th 2019 at 5th Sem. BBA (B) classroom
  • Driving classes at lower rate was arranged for BSOLS students from Nov 18th 2019
  • Webinar on March 8th 2021 on topic “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in covid -19 world” Resource person was Asha Jomis, Director of Public policy at Governance innovation.
  • Round table conference-3rd July 2021 on topic “Does dowry deaths reveal the true picture of gender relation in India”
  • On October 11th 2021- International Day of Girl child: two programmes were conducted” Mia tout” and “Better the Balance”. Mia tout was thanking the superman who stood by you and better the balance was a live programme
  • Awareness session on menstrual hygiene on March 8th 2022 by Adv Justy Thomas (BSOLS Alumna)
