Students’ Welfare Committee
The Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), established in 1986, integrates student services with education at Mahatma Gandhi University to support students’ holistic development-physical, social, emotional and intellectual. Rooted in Kerala’s cultural traditions yet responsive to changing times, the DSW manages the Students’ Welfare Fund and insurance, administers scholarships and fellowships, and organises inductions, camps, and extracurricular activities to foster interaction, mutual respect, and a ragging‑free campus. To coordinate these services locally, each affiliated college appoints a faculty coordinator through whom these services are channelled to students.
The slogan of the Directorate of Students Welfare 2026-27 is :
“ I solemnly affirm that I will respect my body through balanced nutrition, reduced sugar intake, and conscious avoidance of harmful additives”
