Sports Club

‘A Healthy mind in a Healthy body’ – so goes the adage. Sports Club Activities play such a vital role in the character formation of every student. Involvement in sports on campus is something like that seems inevitable for highly potential benefits to students. Recognising the importance of sports and fitness for the physical as well as mental wellbeing of students, the campus has an assortment of facilities and equipment covering the entire spectrum of sports and inaugurated the Club on 5 th July 2018 and the function was chaired by V Rev Fr Varghese Kalaparambath then director of BSOLS. Many essential life skills like sportsmanship, discipline and hard work are inculcated in the students through these activities.

Objectives

The Sports club is committed to provide a healthy sporting habit among the students. It helps to learn teamwork at work, coordination among diverse cultural & ethnic groups and mainly infuses discipline & instils the value system in one individual. Value of time, precision & competitiveness are the major learning points apart from communication, coordination & teamwork. Following are the objectives of BSOLS Sports and Recreational Club

  • To build up sportsmanship
  • To foster intimate friendships
  • To reduce stress and improve health
  • To improve skills and enhance employability
  • To Support in developing positive attitude, self-confidence, courage and patience.
  • To develop his / her skill to perform certain jobs, quality of an organizer, an administrator and development of personality as a whole
  • To get opportunities to see the community closely and thus gets an experience of human nature in relation to his / her environment.
  • To avail the opportunity to meet the people from different walks of life.

Societal Initiatives Of The Club

To help the students work as a team in organizing and conducting events/ workshops The students frequently communicate with the club members of their respective clubs in neighbouring colleges and regions giving them wide exposure of what are happening around them with respect to their clubs also making them participate in events, competitions and workshop.
